You made it to my website - take a look around!

I’m Lucas - digital marketer, content copywriter, avid social media scroller and walking pop-culture bible

I’m digital marketer and creative copywriter, as well as a first-class and award-winning (no, really!) linguist with a talent for finding just the right thing to say.

As a recent graduate in an ever-competitive job market, it can be really tough to stand out.

So I’ve gone the extra mile for you, pulling together my (limited) web design skills to make a digital writing portfolio!

Feel free to take a second to explore my literary masterpieces and professional work in the portfolio if you’d like.

My expertise

For examples, take a look at the portfolio!

  • Aside from juggling my personal socials (which have allowed me to develop a proficiency in Twitter/X, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Threads etc.), I create content for various healthcare businesses across the globe, and have earned my status as the 'Canva King'. I also ran the TikTok and Instagram pages in the 23/24 academic year for ULAB, the Undergraduate Linguistic Association of Britain - a national, student-led organisation creating a network of linguistically-inclined, word-loving people.

  • I’ve been trying my hand at writing published articles with organisations such as Tees Business and U-Lingua (upcoming issue), all of which are available to read online. Tees Business magazine has a readership of over 35,000 people across the Teesside area and beyond, and U-Lingua magazine is a developing subsidiary of ULAB, and completely run and published by students.

  • In my current role at Paul Gough Media, I've created marketing content for over 30 different clients through an array of spokes (such as social, email, and website) I’ve also previously taken a project lead on writing the copy for an awards programme for the Best New Tees Business Awards 2023, which is an awards evening celebrating the up-and-coming new businesses in Teesside. Writing and editing over 30 different businesses’ synopses required me to blend the Tees Business style of writing with each firms’ own voice to create authentic and accurate summaries.

  • I’ve written copy for the website for Hue English, a research project funded by the British Council, of which I was asked to join the research team. Additionally, I've written the copy for many healthcare businesses throughout my time at Paul Gough Media. Also, if it wasn’t clear, I’ve also written all of the content for this very website you have the pleasure of browsing right now!

  • Every assignment written throughout my degree achieved a 1:1, including my final year independent research project on ‘cursive singing’ and language attitudes - an amalgamation of my passions for pop culture, social media and sociolinguistics.
